MY

 VISION

I envision schools where all children succeed, feel safe, and their curiosity is cultivated. I see schools that foster a sense of belonging, a sense of community, and that inspire collaboration. I envision learning standards that challenge. I imagine intentionally designed experiences that delight students, develop their confidence and competence, and cause every child to value tasks that result in learning. Ultimately, I envision schools and community programs that prepare our children to make positive life choices, that give them the tools and attitudes to contribute to our democratic way of life, and that will enable them to live successfully in a rapidly changing world.

My vision is to provide underserved youth an opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive musically, academically, socially, and holistically. This will be achieved with the support of highly qualified instructors, who will assist the students to set goals, I will nurture student development through consistent, thoughtful pedagogy, and will ensure that the students have the skills necessary to succeed in any personal, musical endeavor and life.

MY GOALS

1. To support the underserved youth, and the surrounding communities, with performance and educational programs,

2. To develop a world-class music program at my current school to use as a road map. To be able to compete on a higher level, along with our counterparts,

3. To promote music education. To help increase enrollment for the music programs in our public schools,

4. To bring attention to instrumental music programs and the great things that music programs can do for students, and

5. To provide musical and academic support to underserved youth with after-school, weekend, and summer programs.

My students will use their skills and resources to meet their needs, especially those of the public-school system, wherever those applications mesh with its music programs.
